DE STAFFORD CELEBRATING IMPRESSIVE GCSE & VTQ RESULTS
Students at de Stafford are celebrating their impressive GCSE results, and the school is delighted that the 2025 results have opened doors for them to access the next stages of their educational journeys.
Students achieved success across the full range of subjects and this has also been reflected in the improved results in the EBacc (English Baccalaureate) suite of subjects, with the largest proportion ever at the school achieving both 4+ and 5+ in all of the included subjects (English, Maths, Sciences, and Humanities).
These successes were also matched by excellent performance in subjects including Drama, Art, DT, Citizenship, Health & Social Care, and Media Studies.
The percentage of top grades awarded to de Stafford students continues to be a strength of the school, with one in eight of all grades awarded being the top grades of 7s, 8s, and 9s.
Charlotte Woods, Ivan D, and Hiba E all achieved over eight grades at this very highest level, with Hiba’s results including five grade 9s (awarded to only a very small percentage of students nationally in each subject area).
Owen Walker-Mines, Katie Morrison, Owen Hills, and Eden Gourley also achieved 7-9 across seven or more subjects, while many other students achieved a high proportion of these top grades.
Charlotte Woods - 11 GCSEs : 8 x Grade 9, 3 x Grade 8
Ivan D - 11 GCSEs: 8 x Grade 9, 1 x Grade 8, 2 x Grade 7
Hiba E - 10 GCSEs: 5 x Grade 9, 1 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7. Hiba's 5 Grade 9s puts her in only a small percentage of students in the country to achieve top marks in 5 subjects.
Owen Walker-Mines - 11 GCSEs: 7 x Grade 9, 3 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7
Katie Morrison - 11 GCSEs: 7 x Grade 9, 1 x Grade 8, 2 x Grade 6
Owen Hills - 11 GCSEs: 7 x Grade 9, 1 x Grade 8, 2 x Grade 6
Eden Gourley - 11 GCSEs: 7 x Grade 9, 1 x Grade 8, 2 x Grade 6
Whilst rightly celebrating the fantastic achievements of the high attainers, the school is delighted with the progress made by students from a range of different academic starting points. Several students achieved grades well above what might have been expected of them and there were significant increases in the performance of groups of students including those in receipt of the Pupil Premium and those with Special Educational Needs.
It is impossible to overstate the impact of COVID on this cohort’s primary school experience and the first two years of their time at de Stafford. These students have had to navigate an educational path like no other. Despite these challenges, their resilience and adaptability have been truly commendable
Head of School, Jeff Place, said: “These outcomes do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students as well as the excellent support and guidance provided by staff and parents. The fact that most de Stafford students leave us with such positive outcomes reflects the strong academic progress they have made in their time here. However, this year group also contributed so much to the school community, and we are just as proud of the way in which they have developed into highly aspirational and confident young adults, comfortable of their place in society and the positive contribution they can make.”
James Nicholson, CEO, GLF Schools, said:
“Congratulations to all our pupils and staff for achieving a fantastic set of GCSE results. Their determination and dedication shine through the impressive results we’re seeing across all the GLF Schools. I’m delighted to see staff, students and families feeling so proud of everyone’s achievements.”
