What routes are available when training with GLF Teacher Training as a Lead Partner

GLF Teacher Training as a Lead Provider for Inspiring Future Teachers and other ITT partners, has various routes into teaching available for Primary schools in 3-7, 5-11 and in a range of Secondary subjects:

  • Fee-paying routes - Some teacher training courses are fee-funded. This means you must pay tuition fees and will not earn a salary while you train. There are ways to fund your training, such as tuition fees and maintenance loans. You may also be eligible for a bursary or scholarship.

  • Salaried routes— (for qualifying candidates) Some courses are salaried. This means you will not have to pay tuition fees and will receive a salary while you train to become a qualified teacher. This includes School Direct salaried routes. These courses are in high demand and very competitive, so it’s essential to apply as soon as possible if you’re eligible.

  • Postgraduate training apprenticeships—(for qualifying candidates). This route pays your training fees, and you receive a salary while training. This course lasts over four terms to allow for the apprenticeship end-point assessment.

  • Assessment-only route - (for qualifying candidates). You can only take the assessment route if you already meet the standards for qualified teacher status (QTS), and you do not need any further training or time to get the required evidence to pass QTS. You must be ready to meet the Teacher Standards, have worked in two or more schools and age phases and meet the standard ITT entry criteria. You will undergo a series of assessments and provide a portfolio, and this programme takes up to 12 weeks

  • New for 2025-26 – Undergraduate Apprenticeship in Secondary Maths and Primary Education.

NB: Not all routes are available for all our courses, so check carefully. The best thing to do is talk to a member of our team.
