Find Out Fridays

Find Out Fridays are very special events where students have the opportunity to meet visiting speakers from sectors they have expressed an interest in.

This provides an incredibly valuable experience for our young people to gain an insight into a wide range of sectors and ask any burning questions to explore them fully.

Students who expressed an interest in a legal career, were invited to a Find Out Friday session focused on this sector. We are very grateful to Mangus Jardine-Brown, Solicitor and Partner DMH Stallard for taking the time to share his professional experience and advice.

On Friday 13 October, we were delighted to welcome Mrs Hills, a research scientist, to present on her work in the field of the pathology and strain typing of animal diseases.  The presentation was absolutely riveting, giving a fascinating insight Mrs Hills’ own career journey and the impact of her work on the advancement of medical research.

On Friday 17 November, we were delighted to welcome Mr Ainsworth, a Motion Designer to present his work to our students at our Find Out Friday events.  His role involves producing exciting animated graphics and digital content, and he is often flown out to be part of on-site productions at events (such as Cannes Lions in Cannes and Money20/20 in Amsterdam and Las Vegas).

In February 2024, we were delighted to welcome ex de Stafford student, Martin Poole, a performance coach working in Formula One to talk with our students about his career as part of our Find Out Friday sessions.

Martins' role as a performance coach requires him to travel all over the world, preparing Nico Hulkenberg for each race. The presentation was captivating, and it was interesting to find out how varied Martins role is and how he got into his career. A huge thank you to Martin for taking time out to come and inspire and our students.
