Celebrating GCSE Success!

There was a lot to celebrate at de Stafford school today when an excellent set of GCSE results landed.

The strength of the results saw the school improve on key headline measures, with good progress in the number of students achieving strong passes in both English and Maths.

The school also recorded the highest score using the current metric since the introduction of 1-9 grading in 2017.

Head of School, Jeff Place, said: “These outcomes do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students as well as the excellent support and guidance provided by staff, governors and parents.

“I am pleased that the cohort achieved so well and coped admirably with the impact that school closures had on their journey through secondary school.

“The fact that the vast majority of de Stafford students leave us with such positive outcomes is a reflection of the strong academic progress they have made in their time here.

“However, this year group contributed so much to the school community and we are just as proud of the way in which they have developed into highly aspirational and confident young adults, comfortable of their place in society and the positive contribution they can make to it.”

The percentage of top grades awarded to de Stafford students continues to be a strength of the school.

Edwin A achieved a full suite of 8-9 grades in all ten of his GCSEs, including eight grade 9s. James M and Jess H also achieved 7-9 across all ten of their subjects while many other students achieved a high proportion of these top grades.

The school, a member of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust, was also delighted with the progress made by students from their different academic starting points.

Several students achieved grades well above what was expected of them based on their key stage 2 scores, with David P, Christos J, and Samantha K in particular making excellent academic progress.

We wish all the students the very best in their next stage of their journey.

Our 2023 results will follow shortly.
