Sixth Form Taster Day at Croydon High School

A group of our Year 10 girls spent the day at Croydon High School on Monday 18th June following an invite by Dr Phil Purvis, Head of Croydon High Sixth Form to experience a Sixth Form Taster Day.  This proved to be a highly inspirational and motivational opportunity for all concerned.

Our students took part in a variety of A-level lessons in either Business, Classical Civilisation, Economics, Government and Politics, or Psychology which provided them with a practical insight into what higher study in these fascinating subjects would be like.

Dr Purvis let Mr Garner know after the event that he was very impressed with the de Stafford students he met.  He wrote: “Our Head of Government and Politics, in particular, commented that the de Stafford girls’ knowledge of Brexit and the confidence and assurance with which they spoke about it, was excellent.” He also added: “How very impressed we were with the calibre of student you have at de Stafford. They were wonderful ambassadors for your school.”

Our thanks go to all at Croydon High School who were involved with organising and running the Taster Day and to Head of Year, Mrs Callanan for accompanying the students to the event.
